History

L’école des impatiences is the new formula of an existing festival, the Diep-Haven Festival.

Created in 2010 and initially named “Diep”, between 2014 and 2021 the festival will take on a new name, the “Diep-Haven Festival”, and develop the event between Dieppe (FR) and Newhaven (UK), in the form of a cross-Channel festival of contemporary creation, presenting a program of exhibitions, events and collaborative projects, all structured around a single theme.
The festival is organized by the Cybèle association, which has been promoting contemporary art, visual arts, knowledge and beyond in the Dieppe region since 2005.
Until 2020, the artistic direction of the diep~haven festival will be carried out by two artists: Alice Schÿler-Mallet and Philippe Terrier-Hermann, also founders of the Festival.

From 2021, artistic direction is entrusted to Aliocha Imhoff & Kantuta Quirós, both curators and art theorists.

In 2022, the event becomes the “Ecole des Impatiences. Festival of ideas and contemporary creation”.

The event is now managed by the Dieppe-based association Expanding the poem, and supported by the DRAC, Région Normandie, Département de la Seine Maritime, Ville de Dieppe, Fondation Jan Michalski, D.S.N.-Dieppe Scène Nationale.
