2014, une année pour expérimenter, se transformer et se métisser. Le territoire dieppois où s’est implanté le festival depuis 2010, c’est aussi le départ d’une ligne de ferry qui relie deux cultures.
Entre-deux
Un fil d’Ariane à saisir pour développer de nouveaux échanges, initier un mouvement et de nouveaux questionnements. Une situation qui amène à penser à la relation à l’Ailleurs, à commencer par cet entre-deux qu’est la Manche, qui sépare et qui relie. Cet espace se traverse en ferry pour explorer le temps du voyage et du paysage.
C’est sur ce bateau que le nouveau festival “diep~haven” prendra cette année ces quartiers d’été. Une exposition embarquée entre deux temps forts de traversées artistiques et festives avec un programme de performances, concerts, projections et autres récréations… Autant de propositions pour profiter du temps volé de la traversée et de l’imaginaire de la croisière. En parallèle des artistes sont invités à venir explorer ce territoire élargi – Dieppe, Newhaven et le ferry transmanche –, à le (ré)inventer pour renouveler les regards. Des résidences qui s’inscrivent localement par des interactions avec le territoire et ses habitants. Pour les artistes, ces résidences seront un espace-temps de recherche dont l’aboutissement sera présenté au public en 2015, dans le cadre d’un parcours d’expositions et d’évènements autour du thème Nouveau Monde…
This summer, diep festival will change into diep~haven festival…
Finding a new territory: after four editions held in the Dieppe area, in 2014 the festival crosses the Channel to explore Newhaven, its twin city. Finding a new rhythm: over the span of two years, diep~haven festival will take its time to experiment, engage into artistic research and explore new places.
In Between (2014)
This year will be a year for experimentation, change, and the intertwining of cultures. The Dieppe area is more than just the place where the festival has been held since 2010: it is also located on the outward route of the ferry line that connects two cultures. We will embrace this opportunity for exchange and initiate a set of movements and to raise new questions. Through this exploration, we will rethink our relationship with what is elsewhere and faraway, beginning with the “in-between” space that is the Channel, which both connects and divides the two facing coasts, and which we will be crossing by ferry in order to experience the time, space and landscape of the journey.
